Firefox usage is a bit high but not unreasonable. aLogin also a tic high.

I have seen firefox use upward of 450 Mb. It depends on how many addons and tabs open.

aLogin is loaded in that snip, firefox is within normal limits. You only have 2 Gigs of Ram to begin with so of course it is going to "feel" slow.

Only way to change that is to add ram.

If we had your system specs we could tell you if your system can be upgraded. If it can it is more a question ow what you can afford to put in it.

Scan your system with the Cucial scanner. Then you know what your RAM upgrade options are.

That memory tab doesn't match up to your memory usage. Would it be possible to get a RAMMap output (save, zip up the file, and upload here) of your system in that particular state?

After I boot up my Envy 17, and do nothing but let it sit for a few minutes, the memory usage goes up to 50-55%, and CPU usage climbs to 25-35%, for no apparent reason. The fan starts blowing like crazy, and the system slows. I look under task manager processes, there are like 80 of them going. No...

Ok, I am literally KILLING myself over this! I installed Windows 7 64Bit over XP around a month ago and it was so good that I recommended it to my brother who was previously on XP too. We got him a copy of the 32bit version as he has only 2gb of memory, and he installed it on his machine....
