I accidentally checked the "Hidden" box for userid under "network/user

trying to see the hidden folders, I accidentally checked the hidden box. Now Windows 7 has hidden my userid folders. How can I get it back. I tried restoring it from the copy of this morning but it won't. Help from a person that should have known better.

Are you saying that you right clicked and toggled the hidden box from the properties window?
Or was this something you did in folder properties.
I'm a little fuzzy on exactly what you've done here.
A screenshot would be helpful, you can attach them here easily using the paperclip icon.

Open any Explorer folder and Click on ... Organize(top left)>Folder and Search Options>View(tab)>Hidden files and folders(about 6 down) and check the box for "Show hidden files,Folders, and Drives..... Then go back to the folder you hid, select it and un-hide it the same way you hid it. (Right click it>Properties> un-check "Hidden" box)

Tried that. It doesn't seem to affect the folders under the network. They seem to have a different look if that makes any sense.

Edit... I spoke too soon!!! Found it! If I seem happy that's because I am.

I just tried it on mine and it worked fine to hide and un-hide network folders.

I just saw your edit.......So the above steps did work for you?

Don't forget to mark this thread "Solved"

P.s. Also don't forget to go back and change the view back to "Don't show hidden folders" (that is unless you like them showing)
