    Losing place when typing!!

I am losing my place every time I type. It's like it's switching applications or something. I can't hardly work!!! It's hard for me to explain, but I'm typing even now and I have to constantly click my external mouse back to my spot and resume typing. A few seconds later, I have to do it again and again and again and again!!

Don't know if this is a Windows 7 problem, a Dell problem (Dell XPS notebook) or what. Any suggestions out there????

    Thanks!

disable the touch pad if you are using a mouse, Generally there is a little button right above the touchpad itself that disables it.

I agree with Maguscreed. If you cant disable then plug in a usb keyboard and mouse to see if it gets rid of the problem.

The way I disabled mine was to open Control Panel, at the top right hand text box, start typing mouse. You should then see the mouse icon at the left. Right click it and you will find a place to disable it.

I tried all of that and none of it works. I have absolutely no clue what to do. Could it be a computer issue and not a Windows 7 issue?? I've never had this before. Of course, this is a new computer and the first time using Windows 7. My old laptop had Windows XP and I never once had an issue.

Thanks anyway. If anyone can think of any other suggestions to try, I appreciate it.

    Maguscreed is right.

If you use a mouse it's best to disable the touchpad.

You tried plugging in an additional USB Keyboard and Mouse?
