Control Panel dropdown menu too slow

Hi
I have my windows 7 set up so that when I click on Start and then Control Panel a drop-down menu appears with my choices. I have a relatively fast computer. Intel Core i5 760 with 12G if RAM. To many this is indeed fast. My questions are these:
When I click on Start--> Ctrl Panel it will take about 3 seconds to open if I just hover my mouse over it and about 2 seconds if I click on it. Meanwhile my previous XP old PC did so instantaneously. So how could I get the drop down to go faster? (BTW all other drop down menus are quick to open.)

Thank you

Hello Pintree,

Double check to see if the items in the yellow Tip and red Warning box at the top of the tutorial below may be responsible for the lag. If not, then you might see if using the tutorial to set the menu show time to about 20 milliseconds may help.

Menu Show Delay Time

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Don't mean to thread necro but I noticed this too.

MenuShowDelay does not apply to the Control Panel menu, in addition, I also noticed start menu skins do not apply to a cascading Control Panel menu.

How do I get rid of Control Panel on context menu?
I've been playing with RT Seven Lite to reduce the size of the Windows 7 install on my Dell Mini 9, which has a 16GB HD. One of the ISO files was good, apart from the fact that I got a weird list of Control Panel items on the context menu, see attached. It may be related to God Mode, but I can't...

Extremely slow popup of Control Panel as Menu
Hi to All ! For about some time I have to notice, that the Control Panel needs very long time to pop up. I prefer to see the CP as a Menu, not in Icon-view. From the moment clicking the button until the Menu is shown I have to wait for about 30 seconds, which seems much to long. (When W7 was...
