Control Panel dropdown menu too slow

Hi
I have my windows 7 set up so that when I click on Start and then Control Panel a drop-down menu appears with my choices. I have a relatively fast computer. Intel Core i5 760 with 12G if RAM. To many this is indeed fast. My questions are these:
When I click on Start--> Ctrl Panel it will take about 3 seconds to open if I just hover my mouse over it and about 2 seconds if I click on it. Meanwhile my previous XP old PC did so instantaneously. So how could I get the drop down to go faster? (BTW all other drop down menus are quick to open.)

Thank you

Hello Pintree,

Double check to see if the items in the yellow Tip and red Warning box at the top of the tutorial below may be responsible for the lag. If not, then you might see if using the tutorial to set the menu show time to about 20 milliseconds may help.

Menu Show Delay Time

Hope this helps,
