    CPU usage stays around 50-100%

    Hey guys.
I'm new here and don't know too much about computers so I was wondering if you could help me out here. I recently got this problem, scanned for a virus, found and removed one. The problem persisted so I chose to reformat my computer after hearing from a technician from McaFee saying that I had a ton of problems with my comp. Right now theres nothing on it but the CPU usage still stays high, I am barely running anything on it, do you know what could be causing it? My computer is pretty good.

I've read solutions but don't understand them.

Heres a pic of my task manager.

    My computers preformance is good.
    I have the Toshiba satellite L500 -00U, Pentium(R) Dual-core CPU, 3 GB Ram, 64-bit OS

Your snip is pretty useless because it is not ordered by CPU usage nor are the desciption fields opened so that one cannot id the processes.

You may anyhow be better off looking into Resource Monitor > CPU tab.

Alright sorry about that, Im at 52% usage right now and nothing seems to be really using up a lot of memory.

I see nothing unusual. You run a couple of browsers and kaspersky plus some other small stuff. Could not figure out what CPU that is, but it looks like a relatively slow duo core.

Here is for comparison a picture of my CPU usage with 2 browsers open and Norton running. The perfmon.exe (Resource Monitor) is under 1% and does not even show up. It is 4% on your system. That tells me that your CPU must be a lot slower than my i7 of 3.6GHz. The only CPU usage I show is my webradio which is running.
