    Thumbs.db files

I'm not sure exactly where to post this, so I figure it is a performance issue so I would try it here. For some reason my desktop and in my folders I am starting to show thumbs.db files where I never did before. I am able to get rid of them over time, but it is really a pain in the neck to do it. Is there a way I can stop the thumbs.db files from being displayed or being added to my computer? I have looked around on the internet and the few places I have found have asked me to type gpedit.msc in the search bar after hitting the windows icon, but when I do it says "no items matched my search". If I do it in the run box, it tells me "windows cannot find gpedit.msc. Make sure I am spelling it correctly".

Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue? Thanks!!

Hello Sloooo44, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The thumbs.db files is a hidden protected OS file that is your thumbnail images cache database file. You can do step 5B in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below to not have your hidden protected OS files showing anymore to not see them. :)

Hidden Files and Folders - Show or Hide

    Hope this helps,
