Windows 7: Windows Hanging on startup

Windows Hanging on startup

My windows 7 is hanging for about 2 minutes on start up when it normally takes 30 seconds (SSD)

I have tried boot racer that just stops as soon as windows logs in and finds no error.

I have attached a screenshot of this issue.

This has been happening for about a month now and is becoming really annoying. I have tried a defrag on all drives and that hasn't worked.

I THINK it might be due to network load balancing I enabled a few months ago as you can see in the screenshot the network icon spins around for a few minutes. though I can't remember how to disable network load balancing.

Its not a virus and its not my start up programs as I have disabled them all.

Do you have a System Restore point before you randomly enabled load balancing, apparently messing up your connection? System Restore

You should have your AV starting with Windows. Use Microsoft Security Essentials for best performance and least interference. Keep your firewall on and Windows Updates current.

If you can't roll back what you did then I would consider a Clean Reinstall following these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. After getting a perfect reinstall save a Windows 7 backup image so you can recover when you get tweaky again.

No I don't have a restore point and a reinstall is the last thing I want to do.

To correctly advise you, and possibly avoid a reinstall, then:
Please use the following procedure to update 100% your System Specs. You have made a very good start but some vital info is missing. Compare your present specs to the info generated by SPECCY and the tips in this procedure.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

ADD the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

Consider taking a boot trace at this point.
