Multiple Explorer.exe with {75dff2b7-6936-4c06-a8bb-676a7b00b24b}

I was helped on this forum last year regarding a different issue so here's some payback.

I have seen other threads touching ypon this but they seem inconclusive and ambiguous. For example one thread has implied it is something to do with utorrent, another thinks it needs a shortcut to "Computer" pinned on the Taskbar, another says something needs to be disabled in 'Folder Options' but ...

C:\Windows\explorer.exe /factory,{75dff2b7-6936-4c06-a8bb-676a7b00b24b} -Embedding
If this is showing in your taskmanager after multiple Explorer.exe instances it is a bug in Windows 7.

I will explain this in the simplest way I can. It happens with others as mentioned when they use Utorrent.

It happens with any program that allows you to "OPEN FOLDER" when the program (whatever it is) has saved a result to the harddisk.

In my case it happens with Internet Download Manager (IDM) when I press "Open folder" (see screenshot below).

In my case it also happens with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 when I press "Open output folder" (see screenshot below).

I have no doubt it would also happen if I used utorrent.

Any program that allows you to go to straight to an output folder produces these multiple instances of Explorer.exe. It is a bug in Windows 7.

You can either "End Process" on each instance in Task Manager or you can prevent them appearing in the first place by not using the button that takes you directly to the output folders.

Other programs with similar buttons is Total Video Converter and Easy CD-DA Extractor. I have these programs but I have not actually tested the Explorer.exe issue with them or noticed the Explorer.exe. This is because I used XP Pro when I last used those programs.

Here's the screenshot I prepared in order to illustrate what I mean. Yes I downloaded a random video on Youtube and then converted that video to produce the screenshot. This is a way of thanks for the help this forum provided last year. SCREENSHOT ->

If this has been posted in the wrong place then I'm sorry. Can a moderator or Administrator please move it to it's correct place if this is the case.

Thanks guys for helping me out.
