Computer "sleeping" at night

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. My computer is, in essence, going to sleep at night even though none of my prefs (customized with the advance tools) allow it to do so. I usually run my anti-virus/malware stuff at night then turn it off while I am at work during the day. My programs will be stalled in the morning and will resume as soon as I move my mouse. (I have an aspire one netbook in case anyone wants to know). This is really aggravating cause I end up having to leave it on during the day to finish but then I end up coming home to the same problem. Please help!
