Do I need to do both system repair and recovery discs ?

Hi,

Just purchased a new Desktop PC and I have already created system recovery discs via the Lenovo built in software but just wanted to find out if if I should also be creating a system repair disc through the windows operating system in the back up and restore section.

I am not sure if either method are in fact the same thing or not so a brief explanation of each would be grateful.

Many Thanks

Andy

Hello Andy,

The Lenovo recovery discs, would only be good to use to reinstall Windows 7 back to factory conditions with.

A system repair disc created in Windows 7 will allow you to boot the "System Recovery Options" screen to do say a system restore, startup repair, restore a system image, command prompt at boot, etc...

Hope this helps,
Shawn
