    Usable RAM

My usable Ram on my new install looks low to me. What do some of you think and if so, why?

What is sharing the RAM? Have you examined your BIOS to see what's going on?

It would be helpful if you could post a shot of the memory tab in resource monitor. Just type resource in the search box and select it.

Looks like the hardware reserved is eating it up. I am using a video card and a sound card. I tried the integrated for both and the quality was not as good. Do you think the video and sound cards are where the extra ram is going? I am using the same cards that I had in my previous setup and had 3.25 usable Ram. That is what prompted me to ask about it.

Yes. I think that says it all. You have a GB reserved for hardware. That seems a bit high. Don't really know how to go about determining what is using it but at a guess it may be your video card.

Thanks very much of your assistance. Still I am happy with the way the PC is performing, so that is all that matters.
