    core i3 2cores parked 2cores active.

    I have an i3 Processor

    i have a simple question

yesterday i have 4 CPU on my system, 2 cores are active the other 2 cores are parked
i was able to unpark the 2remaining cores so now, i have 4cores active

it bothers me that as a default, 2cores active, 2cores parked so maybe win7 programmers intentionally did park the 2cores for a reason... i want peace of mind so my questions are...

    1. what are the advantages and the disadvantages of having 4cores active?
    2. what are the advantages and the disadvantages of having 2cores active and 2cores parked?

First fill in your My System Specs so we can help you better.
Where are you getting this information of parked cores??
My understanding is with a Intil i3 when cores are not needed they are parked. That's good. If you start doing more things on your computer then the cores will un-park and do their share. I recommend not mucking with the way they work.
