How long does a full disk check take?

    Hum thats what I meant by doing it both ways as just the file system errors may fix the problem.

    Adding the /r flag adds at least another 5-6 hours to chkdsk on my laptop's 500 GB hard disk.

    Well I suppose the best thing to do mate is to let it run when you go to bed eh? My timings are either out of whack with everyone else's or I have one heck of a quick machine/s.

    Ok I ran it but its gonna take some time I expect it to finish in the next 5-6 hours from now, so is it cool to let it run overnight while I am asleep would anything go wrong which I highly doubt.
