Are there any unneeded startup services?

Hi,I was wondering if anyone knew about some unneeded services in the msconfig I could turn off, mainly Microsoft services because I turned most of the 3rd party ones off.

    Thanks,

The standard recommendation on this forum is to leave Microsoft services alone.

If you absolutely cannot help yourself and have to do SOMETHING, there is a well-known "guide" to unnecessary services, but I won't mention it because that typically causes others to say how pointless or dangerous it is.

I haven't looked at mine in a long time, but I think I disabled 3 or 4 of them---didn't notice the difference. I did it because I had to do SOMETHING, compulsively.

I recommend not mucking with Windows 7 services.
What 3rd party services and startups do you still have running?
Do you have a problem with your computer?

To make it simple: They are all unneeded except those that you started yourself (a la Rocket Dock) and the AV program.

Thanks, but what about the Microsoft services? Do you know any that I don't need?

None of those are needed. They will start when they are being called. If you want to be religious about it, you can schedule them for a deferred start - e.g. 2 minutes after boot. But that is not really necessary.
