Windows 7: Quickly change sleep mode

Hey all,

I'm having a little challenge for you guys I quess. It might not be that difficult, but I don't know if it is possible. Here's my situation: I've got a laptop (Acer) and when I close the screen, by default the laptop goes in to sleep mode which is a good thing. Now I'm using my laptop also as a mediastreaming device (dlna) to my blu-ray player. Now I would like to have for example a shortcut to prevent windows going in to sleep mode when I close the screen while streaming content to the blu-ray player. This to prevent that the laptop stops streaming when I close the screen. I would like to have this setting optional, so when I don't stream content to the blu-ray player, the laptop does go in to sleepmode when I close the screen. Is there a way to make this happen? By means of two shortcuts for example? 1 to prevent sleepmode and 1 to restore sleepmode to default?

Hello Asterix,

As a workaround for this, you could setup two different power plans for this. Have one (ex: High Performance) set how you like when you use the computer normally, and the other (ex: Balanced) set to use for how you like when you are streaming.

Afterwards, you could use the tutorial below to create shortcuts to use to be able to easily toggle between using these power plans for this.
