    CPU and RAM usages?

Just curious to see what kind of usage your windows 7 uses. Personally mine is much improved from vista where i had 38-45% ram usage and roughly 25% cpu (dual core) this is with every service running nothing disabled in msconfig. Windows 7 64-bit gives me 0-3% cpu usage and 20-26 ram usage, a hell of an improvement very pleased

Athlon X2 4000+ show 0-2% when in idle...
2gigs of ram show 38-42% when in idle...

    0~3% idle on the processor
10~15% on memory when idle - but I have a stupidly large amount of RAM.

This thread is kind of pointless, it really depends on how much memory you have and what kind of cpu you have to determine the % usage. Everyone is going to be different. Especially with superfetch on, depending on what programs you use, 7 will start prefetching programs or using the disk cache.

What would be better is to just post your benchmarks between the two systems and see which one is faster. There are some stickies on the performance forum for posting memory assessment, etc. Where everyone compares their performance to each other.

What is the point of getting gushy on IDLE resource usage?
You may not be running task while you are idle, but the computer is.
