Computer running sluggishly after recovering from errors

I recently recovered from a few errors including a BSOD. I activated driver verifier and let it do it's thing, found some faulty drivers and replaced/updated them. I deactivated driver verifier after some running time, and now while my computer is running fairly quick, it tends to hang and sometimes perform uncharacteristically sluggish. I'd like to figure out where the hangs are coming from and get it back to running normally.

The sluggish running isn't consistent but when it happens it consists of: occasionally stuttering, freezes/hangs, and just running uncharacteristically slow

    I have tried:
Cleaning out the computer, its dust-free.
Sweeping for malware, on multiple scanners in safe mode, its virus free.
Cleaning registry and HD with CCleaner
    Running chkdsk

    Extra info:
I tried installing updates. Installing updates, I was able to get through MOST of the updates, but KB2545698, KB2547666, and KB2604229 fail with Error 8024200D.
I was able to install SP1 and everything else.
Hangs occur more frequently while running browsers or playing music, not sure if that matters.

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Need following, be sure to use SPECCY and read the write up carefully:
    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
    Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
    For example:
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
    this capability.

    ====================================================

    After that, then I need:
    Install CCleaner:
CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

    list of STARTUP PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Windows tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept Startup.txt as file name | SAVE button

    list of SCHEDULED TASKS

    CCleaner | Tools
icon | Startup button | Scheduled Tasks tab |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
enter Scheduled Tasks as File name | Save button

    List of INSTALLED PROGRAMS

    CCleaner | Tools
    icon | Uninstall button |
click on Save to text file button (bottom right side) |
accept install.txt as File name | Save button

UPLOAD, as an attachment, the startup.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the Scheduled Tasks.txt file
UPLOAD, as an attachment, the install.txt file.

    HOW TO UPLOAD
Post a File or Screenshot in Seven Forums

Updated my specs to the best of my ability, files are attached. Also I have no wifi adapter, just a heads up on that.

    Thanks for helping! :)

    sykedoc,

I'm amazed that your computer even runs!

WIN | type MSCONFIG | ENTER | STARTUP tab |
    Uncheck ALL

    REBOOT!

You have just told Win 7 to not run unchecked programs at start up time.

You have not disabled the programs. They will be run when needed.

WIN = key with the Microsoft logo on top

CCLEANER | TOOLS icon | STARTUP tab | SCHEDULED TASKS tab |
Use DISABLE button to disable ALL except for:
    Script:
    CCleanerSkipUAC    Piriform Ltd    "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe" $(Arg0
    Close CCleaner.

    REBOOT!

You have not disabled any programs. You have disabled the scheduled running.
Later, after your system is running smoothly, you may reenable desired programs.

    For malware protection:
    Install Microsoft Security Essentlials, MSE

    REMOVAL OF P2P PROGRAMS

There are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

As long as you are using any form of P2P networking to download files, you can anticipate malware infestations.

I strongly recommend that you uninstall:
    µTorrent
    BitTorrent
    Vuze

When finished, upload a fresh set of the three CCleaner files.

    I'll await that fresh set.

Alrighty here you go: I'm going to reinstall mozilla firefox after sending this. I also installed MSE. Already a bit faster!

I do have a few questions about your uninstall list.
Howcome I uninstalled Katawa Shoujo? (Just wondering as its a visual novel)
If I only used utorrent for torrenting MMO clients, is that ok or should i still try to avoid using it? I did uninstall it but I'm just wondering.

My mistake. I did not mean to include Firefox on the list of programs to uninstall.

I do suggest that you uninstall all programs that you no longer use. You sure have a considerable number of programs installed.

    Main question:

How is the system now performing?

Played a few games to test it out, system is performing MUCH better than before, not seeing many hangs so far and no stuttering.

I will get on deleting things
