Sometimes the computer locks up after resuming from Hibernation

Sometimes after I wake it up from hibernation the computer freezes after the resuming Windows screen in a black screen with a blinking cursor at top left. None keys work even ctr+alt+del. This screen often appears for a second before going to the desktop. After reset it wakes up fine after skipping the resume error. Does anyone know why?

    Thanks

It sounds to me as if you are using a older driver for some system component, it's hard to be specific without more information. Very often it's a wifi, audio, or usb device.

Personally I advise against using hibernation if you can at all avoid it, it's always been more problematic than sleep.

    Thanks.

All my drivers are up to date, I am using a Nvidia Beta drivers if this is relevant.

Event Viewer does not have any errors or warnings logged except Disk error when I plug USB drives and DNS errors

I use hibernation overnight because my computer takes too long to boot if shut down and I like to unplug it when not in use, I use sleep only when I leave for a while (< 3h).

PS: This problem happened recently. I've got two freezes in that black screen with flashing cursor for the time being. I'll check if it is a recently installed program.

    Hi derek

Could you run the below the cmd prompt

    Powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
