    Laptop Suddenly Slow,- Asus K53S

    Hey people!

I'm writing on my desktop laptop at the moment, as I can't stand how slow my laptop is..

Well, I was on a holiday for a few weeks. And when I came home, my laptop suddenly went super slow!
I have no idea how this could happen, as my laptop is fairly new, and the only thing I have installed to it is games from Steam. ( I got it in March I think?)

It takes 10 minutes to start it, and when it's on, it is super slow. And not only that, it laggs allot! (Explorer stopped working etc.)

I have disc fragmented several times, as well as used the disc cleanup utility.
I have done a system restore, but that didn't work either, as it wasn't any old restore points to recover to.

That's basically everything I've done, and it didn't work.

Something worth to mention,- The Internet browsing has become very slow on my laptop as well. (Not on my desktop.)

The laptop is getting hot quite often, because there are only one fan in the whole laptop. And I haven't cleaned it a single time after I got it.

    Spec:
    Asus K53S
    CPU - Intel Core i7 2.2 Ghz.
    GPU - Nvidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium
    RAM - 6GB
    HDD - 750 GB

(If there is anything else you want to know, say it

My English might be horrible, but that's because my native language is Norwegian. :P

Would appreciate any help given, as I am clueless..

Have a look into the Event Viewer and see whether you find abnormalities.

Well, I have now taken a look at the Event Viewer.

Microsoft Security Client OOBE and "ReadyBoot" has stopped working several times because of 0xC000000D.

"Shadow-copies" of Windows has stopped working because IU-mistake om volume C:

That's everything related to my problem which I could see.
But I am not entirely sure what to look for either, so then again that might be the problem. :)

If this is still the factory preinstall then Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

If that's not enough work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 starting with the temp monitoring and possible dust cleanout.

It is the factory preinstall. So I will do everything you said I should.

BUT,- I can't. Because this morning, the computer wouldn't start, and when I ran it in security mode, it stopped at loading the file called "CLASSPNP.SYS".

I have searched the web, and found out that it is a widespread problem.

What can I do to fix that, so I can do the tests gregrocker told me to?

Boot an AV scan given in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot to disinfect, then boot the Win7 DVD (provided) to do the repairs.

You must be able to boot a disk or flash stick. How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

Nine out of ten times the user is not booting the disk correctly, or it is burned wrong. Use ImgBurn at 4x speed, or the tool given in tutorial to write to stick.

I will close this thread because of getting other problems (With the same laptop, Bsods and so on..)
I am going to open a new thread about that.
