Computer clicking trouble. (Not a mouse problem.)

Hello there is a small problem that I have been having lately. When my computer is on for a while it will suddely act up. It's not really serious but when I try to scroll it will act as if I press it twice. This goes with opening different tabs aswell in IE. If I click IE it won't stay. It does the same thing with the scrolling like it's clicking twice. I know this is not a mouse problem because I have a touch screen computer and I have tried doing the same and it will just be like using the mouse. i have also tried a different mouse so I am certain that the mouse is not the problem. I would love any imformation you could give me that could help me with this problem. It's small but it's one of the small things that can drive you nuts.

It could possibly be a sensitivity issue. Open control panel > mouse. You should see a mouse properties dialog box with several tabs. (Sorry, I'm on an XP computer so your dialog box will certainly look different.)

If you see a tab called Synaptics try starting there. You'll find several settings to control sensitivity for touch, click, scroll, etc. See if decreasing sensitivity one setting at a time makes a difference.
