    Sleep Problem

Ok, thank you. Now, see if running the command below in an elevated command prompt may help afterwards. It looks like you had left out the full description as below when you tried the command earlier.

    Code:
powercfg -devicedisablewake "Intel<R> 82579V Gigabit Network Connection"
Ran the full code - says "invalid"

No worries. Looks like you just made a typo and had left the quotation mark off at the end of the quote.

This is the command I used -
powercfg -devicedisablewake "Intel<R> 82579V Gigabit Network Connection"

    Still says "invalid"
Am I still doing it wrong?
Can I just disable the network connection since I don't have a network?

If you used copy and paste instead of typing it out, then that may be the issue. Sometimes they do not copy well.

Oh, well if you don't have a network connection using that LAN ethernet adapter, then yes disabling it would be the easiest way to prevent it from waking up the computer.

That was a bust - I disabled the Gigabit Network adapter and had no Internet.
I'll try and type out the command and let you know.

I typed it out - same "invalid" message.

Well, NOW it is going to sleep and staying there.
I have no idea what happened, since this problem only started today.
I also don't know why the commands would not work, but enough is enough.
I thank you for your patience and help.
I added to your rep and wanted to again, but they wouldn't let me.
    You are GREAT!!!

It's no problem. I'm happy to hear that it's working fine again. :)

Disabling and enabling the network adapter may have toggled it back to working properly again.
