    Chkdsk runs after every reboot

Chkdsk runs everytime the computer is booted. The dskchk is always clean and it never finds anything wrong. If I let the disk check complete the dirty bit shows that it is clean but if I skip the check it will be dirty. I have checked the dirty bit prior to a reboot and it is still clean but chkdsk will still run again during bootup. My operating system disk is a 240 GB Kingston SSD and I am running Win 7 pro x64. I get no messages during shutdown and the shutdown process is smooth. Device manager doesn't show any problems with drivers and they have been updated.

    Thanks for the help,
    Don

The problem was caused by Norton Utilities. Norton had scheduled a disk check for the C: drive but was not resetting after the disk was checked so on every reboot it ran again.

    Thanks
