Random freezes/crashes, everything stops working with sound lag

    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased the Acer Aspire 5755G laptop for gaming purposes, for the first couple of days it worked just fine but now I'm witnessing random freezes which cause my system to crash for a moment and when it happens, I'm hearing a weird (terminator?) sound from the speakers. I overclock my GPU when I play games but I'm sure it isn't a GPU problem since this happened before I even started overclocking the GPU. I'm not sure but I think that the CPU is the main cause of my system crashing.

    Specs:

Intel i5 2430M CPU (with Turbo boost)
    nVidia Geforce GT 540M
    8GB DDR3 1333 MHZ RAM
750 GB 5400 RPM TOSHIBA HDD
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Hope you guys can help me out with this annoying problem

    Thx!
