    Start/Run . . . cmd

    chkdsk /x /f drive:

If it completes successfully this will usually remove the dirty bit. To check it, enter the following command:

    fsutil dirty query drive:

Let us know if this doesn't work. There are more options.

I have tried that way before but it didn't work. It showed DIRTY, after check it showed NOT DIRTY, but it didn't last long, after few day the disk check run again at boost.
When Disk C: was DIRTY, it also didn't show up in defragment menu (only disk D showed)

You are saying that it does not happen on every boot. Only on some boots?

    This is a bad sign.

    Back up your disk.

Yes, it doesn't happen on every boot... Only happen on window 7, not on Xp or vista...is there anyway to solve this problem? I have just bought this laptop 4 months ago. Why seagate tool did not found any problem?

Could be a chipset or power issue.

Mine does the same thing. I installed win 7 on two computers and it runs the chkdsk at boot up about 70% of the time. There is never a problem.

It is not a drive issue since it is happening on two computers and only after I put on Win 7.
