Very Slow Shut Down on powerful PC

    Hello, hello, my first post.

I have very slow shut down more than one minute, startup speed is normal.

OS is on Intel 320 160GB SSD, and i only have that SSD in pc, no HDDs.

I have read here on forums to use diagnostic startup, and i did, and speed is normal in that mode

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello senA and welcome to Seven Forums.

    This tutorial may help:

    Shut Down -Speed Up

You could also see if your computer is set by default to clear the page file at shut down. This file could be a couple of gigabytes in size and the clearing process could add considerable time to the shut down. Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

If ClearPageFileAtShutdown = 1, change the value to 0 and restart the computer for the change to take effect. (If you don't see ClearPageFileAtShutdown then it means the computer is not clearing the page file.) CAUTION: Create a new system restore point or have a current system image available before editing the registry, just in case.

Thx for response mate, but looks like new OS fixed it. Now its almost fast like before.

Its 3-4 second slower than before, but it looks like that is because of two GPUs.

    Best regards.
