Windows 7: How can I disable dw20.exe?

dw20.exe is slowing down my pc in an unbelieavable way.

I've read that, in order to disable it, I ishould modofy the following registry entries:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW


The problem is.. I cannot seem to find them.
I've also read I could disable the "Microsoft Application Error Reporting" in "Services and Applications", but i cannot find tha either (maybe I'm missing it, since I'e got an italian copy of WIndpows 7 Pro 64bit).

Have you tried "simply" to locate the file, end the process, and rename the file?

I had to do that for a WindowsMediaPlayer process back in the Vista days.

If dw20.exe re-populates out of the ether, then you may have to backup the registry, create a restore point, search for dw20 in the registry and modify it out of existence.

That is a potential for any solution offered and applied.

But you've read that dw20.exe, if it is a valid installation, is not necessary for the program it came with to function. It's an added utility.

One other place you may want to look is "task scheduler". dw20.exe may be nestled in there.

I think dw20 is part of error reporting

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\Problem Reporting Settings
and select "Never check for solutions (not recommended)

also
do the same for All User setting.

Let me know if dw20 is no longer loaded.
