    Hi

every time I connect my external hard to my laptop
    this message appears:

I once responded to the message and did the scan and fix
but its coming back again every single time
and its walking on my nerve

how can I get rid of this message and makes it stop appearing?
    can you help me?

    Hi,

There are two reasons this could be happening:

    1) You are unplugging the device (drive) without ejecting it beforehand, and/or
    2) The device has errors which require fixing

To remove the device safely, first eject it by right-clicking on it in Windows Explorer and then selecting 'Eject', or by clicking on the USB icon on the Taskbar and choosing to eject the device.

To fix any errors on the device, do the following:

    1. Click
    2. In the search box, type cmd
    3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd and then click Run as administrator
    4. Click Yes on the UAC panel if prompted
    5. In the command window that opens, type chkdsk /R X: (where X is the drive letter assigned to the device in Windows Explorer). The output typically looks like this:

    Code:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /R F:
The type of the file system is FAT32.
Volume PENDRIVE created 15/08/2012 8:41 PM
    Volume Serial Number is 4EB3-A10B
Windows is verifying files and folders...
File and folder verification is complete.
    Windows is verifying free space...
    Free space verification is complete.
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.
        7,808,000 KB total disk space.
36 KB in 1 hidden files.
               16 KB in 4 folders.
        1,809,148 KB in 24 files.
        5,998,796 KB are available.

4,096 bytes in each allocation unit.
1,952,000 total allocation units on disk.
1,499,699 allocation units available on disk.

    C:\Windows\system32>
    6. Once completed, remember to eject the device before unplugging it.

The fix & scan prompt should now stop appearing as long as you use this eject method before removing/unplugging the device.

    Regards,
    Golden
