Please help, mem test failed 0x000000f keeps rebooting

hey guys please help me i have a asus laptop. i got a virus. when i booted up it just went to a black screen with a cursor, so i reinstalled windows.

after doing so it now just keep restarting, it will make it to the starting windows screen then it restarts and keeps doing that.
I have tried all the following and have been unsuccessful:

    - F2 while booting gives me two options:

    1) Windows Setup [EMS Enabled]
    2) Tools: Windows Memory Diagnostic

When I choose Windows Setup, Windows tries to boot and gets back into the black screen with a cursor.

When I choose the Windows Memory Diagnostic option, I get a message saying Windows failed to start - a recent HW/SW change might be the cause. It asks me to insert a Windows installation disc and restart my computer. The following information is also provided on this screen:

    File: \boot\memtest.exe
    Status: 0x000000f
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt

    - F8 while booting: tried every option provided on this screen to boot but all end up in the black screen with cursor issue, even in safe mode restarts

    - Hold the F10 and F12 keys while rebooting - both end in a black screen

I have exhausted all the options I know and seeking advice on a cost effective way to revive the laptop.

i tried the chkdsk and said there was no problems?

    PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

Well first lets do a reliable test on the memory.
I suggest allowing this to run overnight or 5 or so passes for reliable results. (if it starts spitting out errors right away there is no need to continue though)
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

The drive would seem okay let's make sure the memory is as well before proceeding.

also i switched the boot order 1 to cd/dvd and disabled the 2nd boot option ..after i did this it let me run the mem diagnostic tool and found nothing. but when i restore deafults to 1 being the hdd it comes up that windows failed to start file /boot/memtest.exe status-0x000000f could this mean the hard drive is bad?

If the hard drive or the file itself were actually bad it would be so in both scenarios.
Do you have a windows disc to try this with.
