can I copy DLL's from Win Prof x64 to Win Ult x64 to fix SFC /scannow

SFC /scannow on my Ultimate x64 is reporting the following can't be restored from the source

    W32UIRes.dll
    spwizimg.dll

Can I copy these from a working Professional x64 installation to my Ultimate x64 machine?

    Thanks!

Hello Jcsherr, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Here's a clean copy of them from my system (64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate) in a ZIP file below. After you download and extract the files on to your desktop, you'll need to unblock each .dll file first since they are from an external source, then copy and replace each one into the folder that your SFC report says it could not fix them in.

    Hope this helps, :)

Thanks! I took mine back to the fixit shop and told them about the scannow issue. I may well need this after I get the machine back. Will update hopefully early next week...

Normally yes, but when it states that the source is also corrupted, then you can't since that location is the source.

You could pull them off of a retail Windows 7 installation DVD though.
