With more than 28,500 posts under your belt, I think you're being refreshingly modest.

So, I've been fooling around with allocating some RAM, with RAMDisk, for browser caches and system temp files to see if it would have any effect on the winsat mem test or the WEI. The effects were negligible, if anything at all, for the winsat mem test (-100 Mb/s or so) and completely nonexistent for the WEI.

Now, I realize that for the modern SSD wear and tear may not be anything to be too concerned about. After all, my SSD has a 5 year warranty. But my RAM has a lifetime warranty and it provides some psychological comfort to know that all those R/W's are not going to my SSD. And as a side benefit (from my perspective) my browsers have a little more pep and all those files just disappear evertime I shut down my computer. I prefer not to save them as long as it doesn't seem to observably effect performance and it doesn't.

My thinking is that with my User folders and the Program Data folder on D:/ and my Browser caches and temp files going to K:/ , my little 60GB C:/ drive should stay fairly clean and lean with only the OS, a few utilities and just a couple of larger programs and suites like Calibre & LibreOffice. I haven't had any hiccups yet and I've been playing with everything I can think of for about 16 hours total so far.

I know this is tangentially off topic, but I thoght it was relavent. Sorry, If I should have posted this somewhere else. Still learning the ropes around here.

I have everything on my SSD. Would relocate files if space was an issue. But these new fangled SSD things will last a long time D/L the free SSD Life, and see what the projected life is. Mine is still 8 more years and I have 5759.8GB written already.

Only a couple.
I uninstalled it, ran CCleaner reg cleaner and temp cleaner, rebooted reinstalled and still a blank window.
Also checked Windows Update for maybe a .NET update but nada.

The Pro Trial works except for throughput info.

Yeah, I couldn't get it to work for me either. Thought I might be having my first hiccup, but, since Britton30 didn't have any luck with the free version, I'm going to deny, deny, deny.

I'll take your word for it though. After installing and playing with all my usual culprits, I still have more than 41GB free on this little thing, so I'm not gonna stress about it one way or the other as long as everthing keeps working. And, if not, it wouldn't be the first time I've had to resort to a "back-up" plan. Thanks for the info.

Got a new P8Z77 WS and some TridentX 2666mhz

Meh on the board and the RAM is flapped. Will not boot above 2400mhz. Waste of money.

Look at this piss weakness: (it's Win 8 if it makes a difference)

Good to see you again Patrick!
I would expect more of the Trident RAM too. Some CPU's memory controllers are better than others, that may be the problem. I have a bud with an i5-3570K who can't get 2200.

I remember your post about that, so 2133MHz (ish) is the max for an i5 3570K IMC?
