I'm far from a hardware expert as some are, and they'll no doubt chime in with ideas, but it seems low for DDR3. I'll ask some questions for info that might help them. Your specs say 6GB of ram, that's an unusual number. It's a laptop, have you changed anything internally, or is that the way you purchased it? BTW, thanks for adding some System specs, but you can get more precise info there which is always helpful

Hi John, your score is slightly low, I think, it should be in the 11-12 thousand range. Some laptop makers sell them with 6GB of RAM, with 4GB+2GB sticks. As such they aren't matched in size which should give you a higher score. I would predict if you got either a matched set of 2x2GB or 2x4GB the score would be higher.

Looks like it also may be 1066MHz

DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM, 2 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 G SDRAM

If it is an K42Jr notebook.

Yup Always use matching pairs for best performance. Sometimes even having mismatched ram causes freezing and crashing.

Probably I am in the right section for this issue. If not, please move it. A couple of days ago I changed the motherboard and processor, but not the RAM as the RAM is apparently compatible with that board as stated in GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-B85M-D3H (rev. 1.0/1.1) ... Now, I...

What's your hard drive assessment speed?
I'm curious to see what other people are getting for their WEI disk scores. I would like to see all types and combinations of drives to see how they differ in performance. If possible try to keep HDTach/HDTune/etc. scores to a minimum as there is another thread for that. Some general questions...

Memory Assessment Speed
Just a curious question; I ran winsat mem a couple of weeks ago and got a 13600+ read. Ran it today and got 15985 read. Only system change was adding a Radeon 6670 Video card. Does memory speed change this much ? What might cause the disparity ?

Memory speed
I have 4 Gb of corsair 1600MHz C9 DDR3 memory installed on an Asus Crosshair III Formula 790FX motherboard. The motherboard specs said that it supported 1600 MHz memory, yet the memory is only running at 1333 MHz. Do I need to OC the M/board in someway to get the full speed out of the memory...
