Windows 7: ~1000 instances of Explorer.exe

~1000 instances of Explorer.exe

I have a problem.When I open the task manager there roughly about 1000~ instances of explorer.exe. I just got the problem today. EAch instance is about 4900 kb, which is eating up my CPU/Memory to about 90% each. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Lets start with this:

1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

2. Run the tool, and then click 'Copy' - ignore any errors if they appear

3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the validation tool here in your next reply
