    100% CPU Usage

Hey guys, I am trying to format a laptop. with windows 7.
Thing is, right now I have installed most of the programs I wanted to, and it is stuck like hell.

When I open the task manager, it says that CPU usage is at 100% (while the ram usage is at 30% or so). When I check the processes, i see that for some reason the task manager takes up like 40 or 50% of the CPU, while the rest percentage gets eaten up by other programs. I cant seem to spot a single process that is responsible for that. Sometimes a svchost takes 45%, sometimes the catalyst control panel takes up 45% etc.

I installed mse and spybot and, since I thought that they were the reason for that, I did a system restore (that took like half an hour to complete, it took me 5 minutes to open each menu. I restored it to a state 2 hours ago, but still it has the same problems.

What can be the reason for that?

    sfc /scannow

    Have you checked for malware?
Have you tried disabling all the non-MS programs that start (when the PC boots) using "msconfig"?
Does it still happen if you boot up in "Safe Mode"?

Have you tried running "sfc /scannow"?
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Well, i formatted the PC 4 or 5 hours ago, and I havent done enough things to it in order to cause such problems.
I have installed all the critical windows updates, some drivers (for the unidentified devices), and some programs (java, chrome, k-lite codec, tune up utilities etc).
It has only 3 things loading at startup: java update utility, catalyst control center and another thing that calls the cmd and opens a "kdbsync.exe" program or something like that (i think it has to do with the catalyst drivers).
Except from that, i had left the laptop idle for 30 minutes now, and i returned and found it working great again. I browsed the internet for 5 or 10 minutes (googling that kdbsync thingie) and the CPU went back to 100%.
I really need to find a solution to that issue soon, because I have to return the laptop tomorrow, and I still havent finished the things I have to do to it.

AddRam, I formatted the laptop's harddrive in order to do a fresh install of windows 7. After installing them and other updates/drivers/programs my described problems arose.

No, right click the drive you use, click tools, click defragment, and analyze your drive. If it is more than 15% fragmented, defragment it now.

Or use Easeus Partition Manager to format your hard drive without any problems. Search on google an download it.

Well, given my current problem, right clicking my drive and analyzing it would take approximately 2 hours, if it ever finished.

If you have to return it ( to where ? ) then I wouldn`t spend another minute worrying about it.

    Hope you didn`t borrow it.
I have to return it to a friend of mine, that actually asked me to format it and install windows 7.
