Ok Carl maybe we are getting somewhere. Yep the TRIM is or should be auto. The update site my friend I was meaning I don't trust anything like that these days because they need to scan your system to know what is required (for the most part)
I just got off saying to someone else that driver updates can be got through the cloud but I prefer the Windows way or the manufacturers site/s.
Yeah well point taken I said I didn't know much about RAID but seem to remeber you saying it wasn't working in that feature.
Now what you said about backing stuff up to say an external and redoing the Outlook is looking what I would do personally. Then you can start with a clean slate as it were.
For that I would go the DISKPART route or a wipe with the Partition Wizard on that drive.
This tutorial is part of my Bible for DISKPART on any drive spinner or SSD
SSD Alignment < I just use that first bit - for HDD's I usually leave out the align bit but ti doesn't matter if you do it as is.
The Partition Wizard I have used on many occasions and just written 0's to the entire drive then readied it with the DISKPART I know that sees a bit of overkill but I like to be absolutely sure.
