I hadn't come across firemin before. Trying it now. Huge difference - no bad side effects so far.
Thanks.

yeah, at "max cpu usage" some addons start stuttering noticeably (like say downthemall, especially if you have a lot of heavy addons), but really I don't need firefox to run in a few kb, the "max ram" setting is more than enough to keep it in check without hurting addons.
But maybe it's just my oldish rig.
I got a program made ten times better than fireman exe
this actually closes the application in firefox for what ever desired time. and works a treat :)
ohsocute69, have you find a solution? Been hunting but the solution is to exit imacros using iim1.exit as prescribed by iopus. The memory leaks cannot be recovered.. using imacros 8.0, memory usage start at around 30mb then slowly building up to 600mb or more..have to write a vba using WMI to query the process memory if imacros.. once it reach the critical point.. issue a iim1.exit and restart imacros
Have just upgraded the ram from 1GB to 2GB. Now find that the memory leak is much lower and steady at less than 300 MB and imacros did not hang up as it used to be. May be the additional ram allowed smooth running of the webpages and caused less errors in imacros downloading them and therefore, less memory leaks..
Are you sure it was a memory leak and that it wasn't that you just didn't have enough RAM? (Because you have been and are still using an exceptionally low amount of RAM for running Windows 7 and your programs.)
Anyway yeah, +1 for Firefox. (Because apparently meaningless browser preference shout-outs are relevant to this thread.)
Mod computer running on superlite Window7 that is only about 2 gb fully installed.. specially built for data acquisition with imacros 8.0. Programs use only about 200 mb max physical memory without imacros..imacros took up about 500 MB.. now running flawlessly for 7x24 running after adding 1 more Gig with imacros running below 400 MB..imacros and other programs are refreshed daily..downloading data much faster than similar xp machine running in parallel with imacros 6.9..
