Disk Check always on start up issue

First off I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

I'm having a problem disabling the disk check on start up with windows 7. Its more of an annoyance but, i've first tried through the command prompt. I read to check it first to see if its scheduled with chkntfs c: .. but when I do that it says "cannot query state of drive c:" I have no idea what that's about or how to fix it.

Now I have let it run and results came back clean.. but I dont need it trying to run everytime I boot my laptop

Ive also read that it can be disabled through the registry. I don't want to do that, at least not yet anyway, so if theres anything that can be done for both issues, please let me know

    Great, glad that helped.

You may want to run the manufactures hard drive diagnostic just to make sure there is no problem with the drive.

Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.
