    WEI Fails at Refresh

I installed a newer Graphics card (Powercolour 4670 1Gb) and after win7 restarted i Installed the Win 7 drivers for it from ATI.

I rebooted the PC, and checked my WEI score (it was 5.8 with the older card), it said i had installed New Hardware and need to refresh, so i did. it gets to a certain point then a message pops up that says. "Windows Assesment Tool has stopped working" and it cannot continue.

I'm not that worried about it, but would like to know the cause of the error.

    cheers

Do you have the correct drivers installed?
What segment does it crash durring?
Have you checked the event log?

It crashes at "Direct 3D 9 Batch Assessment" The event log has numerous winsat.exe fails and i have the latest Radeon drivers from ATI installed.

Hey Jeepers, and welcome to the forums... Try this and let us know if it helps..

    navigate to: C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore
    delete all *.xml files...
Run elevated CMD and excute the following command.

O.K. did as you suggested but got to : Assessing DirectX Batch performance. Then the error: CreateShader failed to produce a valid shader cache. Now it seems to be getting somewhere :)

    cheers
