Windows 7: Not Responding..

Hello Everyone. Im newbie here and i have some question about my PC.. gotta sony vaio windows 7 64bit home premuim. the problem is, too slow my pc to start up. it takes about 15 to 20 mins or more.. and it's always have "not responding" in the upper left corner of the monitor.. i cant use my ms word to do some typing job co'z its pauses 5secs everytime. What should i do sir/ma'am? Please need some help.. Thank Much everyone!

It would help if you told us your system specs. At the top of any Forum page, click on "User CP". Then in the left column click on "Edit System Spec". In the scetion for make/model of computer, also indicate if it's a laptop, desktop, tablet, etc.

Depending on how old your Vaio is, you may be able to speed things up with just some general maintenance tasks. My recommendations are:

1. Do a full scan with your updated anti-virus suite. No anti-malware product is 100% effective 100% of the time. (If there was such a thing we'd all be using it.) Run an additional on-demand scan with any of these free products. The more scans you run (one at a time!) the more likely your computer is not infected.

2. If you don't use hibernation, disable it.

3. Run Disk Cleanup to include deleting any unnecessary system files (Step 5.)

5. Go through this list for additional optimizing suggestions. Not everything will apply to you and you don't have to do anything else if you don't want to. But definitely do the four things above.

Glad to hear your startup issues seem to be solved.

Now let's check for any damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

Hello! my sister needs help as well about her laptop samsung quadcore processor 500G HDD 4G RAM windows 7 home premium sp1. did not start up.. i already load the system recovery media but only system recovry tool appeared for 12 hours. Christ! please help.. Thank much..
