You can export (backup) all or part of the registry within regedit itself.

I have not heard of a tool that will reset the registry. The reason is that all systems are going to have some specifics which are not inherently identical, therefore, with the exception of making a pristine backup for each system at first boot, there is no way to make a generic registry reset.

Of course, as I mentioned, you can back it up at any time and then restore the backup, which is about as close to resetting as you can get.

    Hello ohsocute,

You could do a system restore using a restore point (if avaialble) dated before whatever happened to the registry to restore to how it was when the restore point was created.

    Hope this helps, :)

As far as I know their is no such tool.
A Repair Install might do what you want and a Clean Install will do what you want. Using a system Restore Point before the problem, (if you are having a problem) would be my starting place.
The reason people ask WHY you want to do this with the registry is a good one.
If we know what kind of problem you are having it will help those with the knowledge of registry repairs to guide you. If you are having problems please state them. If it is just a general question I hope I helped to answer it.
