    Uninstall never completes

I opened Control Panel to Program and Features. I scrolled down to Wise Disk Cleaner and clicked Uninstall. I think I got a couple of popup windows and clicked 'OK', but then nothing happened. I tried clicking on Wise Registry Cleaner and then "Uninstall", but it told me "Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed".

After many minutes I got impatient and closed Control Panel. Then I got impatient again and opened Program and Features. Wise Disk Cleaner is no longer listed, so maybe the uninstall finally finished. I clicked Wise Registry Cleaner and clicked Uninstall, but I got the same message to wait until the current program finishes.

I went out (to tutor some StupidMathStudents) and returned several hours later. There is nothing happening on the screen. Again I tried to uninstall Wise Registry Cleaner from Control Panel, but it is still telling me to wait until the last program finishes uninstalling.

There are no unusual programs in my Start bar. I cannot find any hiddend, but not dismissed popup windows. What gives? Is this thing still running? Will it ever finish or is it hung? (Actually, I know the answer to that one). Must I reboot to start over? If I reboot, will Disk Cleaner be on my PC, but not listed in Programs and Features - never to be cleaned off but forever interfering with Windows' operations? Thanks.

You have been got by this new Wise fix everything program. I do believe this program is a IObit program.
    A few things to try.
    1. Safe mode and see if you can find it and remove it. While in safe mode check go to
msconfig and check Start Up and non Microsoft Services. If you find Wise make sure they are unchecked. Reboot in safe mode again and see if you can remove it.
    2. You can use Ccleaner under Tool/Uninstall and see if you can find it.
    3. You can use Revo. If it can find it you will be able to remove it.
    4. You can also use Everything Search and remove any and all of it.
***You must be careful when doing such things to make sure you don't remove the wrong thing.***
Now the bad news. When you do get it removed you don't know it the damage it has cause is repaired. You might have to do a Repair Install or even a Clean Install.

This is the third problem thread I've seen in as many days about Wise crapware.

If you still have a restore point before you installed it on your PC I'd roll it back now.

If not, as suggested install Revo.

Next reinstall Wise apps exactly as you had them before, reboot.

Then use Revo to uninstall Wise and any leftovers in Advanced Mode. How To Use Revo Uninstaller To Completely Uninstall Programs. This is only recommended for special cases.

Watch for System problems which often result from using any kind of optimizer with Win7. You really only need the tools and methods written in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to assure a perfect install as long as you stick with them.

You hit the nail on the head Greg. This Wise thing is popping up all over and doing nothing but bad things. I think you are going to busy in the clean install business.
