    Cardbus readyboost question


    I want to speed up a old IBM Thinkpad T42, which is running on only 1GB RAM (the second DIMM port is damaged)

    This computer has a CardBus port, so I'd like to get a small 2-4GB flash drive to use as a ReadyBoost drive, which should improve performance.

    Anybody have any suggestions as to where to find one for not too much? I know I can find 32GB versions for $400, but those are overkill.

    This might work, but SD Class 10 is a third of the speed that I could get out of the compact flash adaptor... Amazon.com: SDHC/SD/SDIO/MMC to 32-bit High Speed CardBus PCMCIA PC Card Adapter/Reader for WIN XP/VISTA Computer. NOT for WIN 98/ME/2000/Mac/GPS/Honda/Mercedes: Everything Else

Hello all, Have a question regarding Readyboost. I have a my book essential 1TB and a 186 gb MTD external HD. Both say divice cannot be used for Readyboost. But my 4gb scan disk camera card allows the use of Readyboost. Just wondering why it wont let me use the other harddrives.
