Pc lag to the death idk maybe to lack of memory.

Hi i have a REALLY OLD COMPUTER as you can see (for people that know me) its a hp media center pc m7067c.

PC SPEC: 1gb of ram, Window Ultimate, 2 Intel Pentuim processors (ok go ahead, laugh) 3.00ghz both (LAUGH AT THAT HA)

What i see from task manager is physical memory is always near 50% or 70% yet drastic lag.

Nothin boots on my start up besides intel grapihcs card thing but nothin else. i know that to well.

THING I DO WHEN I START UP COMPUTER: First things first. I start game booster ,then i turn on Advanced sytem care and i do everything on the check list. Its done. ususally no malware are there i know to good to update once everytime. I do spyware check. KILLED THEM ALL. then i do antivirus check. Always non. I use malware byes.

Perfect. Click Google Chrome. Wait maybe 5 minutes to load. Then do my bussnuss.

All this takes atleast 30 minutes.

Any ways to improve system speed?

BTW not to bump or anything but window explorer.exe only takes in 10,000 kbs of ram. Isnt it suppose to take atleast 20 or 30,000?

Firstly, install the maxium amount of RAM, in your case 3 gb of RAM since you have a 32 bit system. Your system says it will take 4 gb but you'll only be able to use a maximum of 3 to 3.5 gb. It's do to the limitation of the 32 bit system.

No. your processor is a Pentium 4, single core with multithreading. It disguises itself as a dual core and Windows 7 thinks it is, but it is not. It is just a weak single-core processor (as even my netbook with a n455 processor which is still a single-core with multithreading can run windows 7 fine in 1 GB of ram).

Don't use game booster nor advanced system care. run antivirus antispyware overnight and even then once a week is more than enough.

But if you really want to see that POS computer zip around at lightspeed: uninstall windows 7 and install a version of Linux Puppy (macpup that looks good).
That will improve performance A LOT.

The most important things to assure Win7 meets its standard of instantaneous performance is adequate hardware with a perfect install. This means you should max your RAM if you intend to do gaming, don't even think about running the factory bloatware install which is worst of all with HP.

Instead get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

If you're using 4gb RAM then 32 bit is fine for the reinstall, although you can try 64 bit to see the difference.

Never use optimizers or registry cleaners with Win7, just the tools and methods mentioned in Clean Reinstall tutorial to get and keep a perfect install. You can improve performance some using Optimize Windows 7 especially editing Visual Effects of fading, sliding, animation, dragging intact and selection rectangle which hog RAM.
