Possible new CPU for my PC.

Hi everyone. Given the specs I have listed for my PC, I was wondering if upgrading from my current i5 2500k to a i7 2700k would make sense. I noticed on Newegg that the prices of the 2700k have come down a bit, so I am considering it. Thanks in advance for any input.

Can you strech as far as 3770k, on ebuyer it as a £15 diffrence, it will be worth it as the 2600k is old generation

Additional note: I plan to upgrade my CPU cooler, so if I am going to do that, it would be a good time to install a new CPU as well.

After looking at the specs for my Asus P8P7 Deluxe motherboard, it will support the 3770k, but I would have to flash my system bios as well. Doing that makes me kind of nervous, as I would hate to screw my PC up. Any input on that procedure would be welcome as well.

Just finished flashing system bios to the latest revision. The Asus flash utility made it a breeze. I also made a backup of the old bios, which I can restore if I start having issues with the new revision.
