Win7 System repair disc creation error

I'm trying to 'Create a system repair disc' but keep getting this error message: System repair disc could not be created. The request is not supported (0x80070032). This is trying to use my CDRW.
If I try to use my DVDRW the error message I get is same but with a Unspecified error (0x8004005).
I've googled and tried ms support but can't find a solution. Any help would be appreciated...TIA

Belated Welcome to Seven Forums.

Don't know if you have found a solution to this yet.

Have you created a partition recently?

According to MS this refers to an incomplete create partition action.

Failed to Run Task Sequence (Error 0x80070032)

Let us know if you haven't created a partition, or have found other info concerning this error.

I had a similar problem with my new system when making a System Repair Disc with new Liteon 22X dvd drive. I first tried 16x media and it would fail. I used some older DVD+R 4X and it worked fine. I then tried a simple copy to the DVD drive with same results. I installed CDBurnerXP (Win 7 compatible) and it will write to anything I put in the drive. For some reason the built in writing software doesn't like my drive.

external DVD drive instead

I found a workaround by plugging in an old external Iomega Super DVD which can read/write on dvd media. I still haven't figured out why my internal Lite-On LH-20A can't/won't play/write DVD's and neither will my internal TDK CDRW 241040X. Both are recognized in Device Manager and reported as working properly...so maybe it's Windows7 because all my drivers are updated...go figure...

Try CDBurnerXP: Introduction and News to test your drives. Select "Data Disc" and it has options to look at the drives and discs. Then see if it will burn a disc. I use it as my main burning software and it works great.
