My ssd drive is full for no reason

    Hello

Today, I had a message that my SSD drive is full (256g). I'm not sure why because the last time I did check, I had about 150G free on it. I don't download movie. Pictures are on another disk

How could I know witch files is using the spaces

    Any help appreciated

    Martin

Hiyya Martin Mate check the contents of your Music and Pictures I have had a few problems with saving to a data spinner and then play back doubles even quadruples up the entries in My Music and Picture.

This filled my 120Gb real quick.

Run this command and tell me what it says after Allocated (for C) - or post the content of the cmd window.

    vssadmin list shadowstorage

This is going to tell us whether restore points have filled the SSD. That happens at times (when the maxsize is not properly set) and it goes fast. Restore points are appr. 1GB a piece.

    Hello all

I did install WinDirtStat. And I found that my AV Kaspersky 2013 was using all the empty space from the last installation.

I have uninstall it and I'm in the process of a new instalation now. Space as been recovered on my SSD
I will look at the proposed tool after
I don't have a big music collection ( 2 CD) nor video on the drive

    I will keep you inform

Thanks Wolfgang making a bit of sense now.

Hum Martin thats my ISS too and I wouldn't have thought it would have done that - I know you probably know but you are using the Kaspersky removal tool first eh?

What I normally do is download the latest version into downloads uninstall and them whip it back in asap. I like the feature where it keeps the old settings too.
