"Windows Explorer has stopped working" repeatedly

About every 10 minutes I get a popup box telling me Windows Explorer has stopped working, it pauses about 5 seconds and then starts working again. Any suggestions to fix this?
(running Win7 ultimate from online anytime upgrade)

Hiyya Duke and welcome Mate > Start > type cmd > right click on the black / white window > run as admin > at the prompt type sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc and the /scannow Let it run and it will check the file system.

If the above sfc suggested by ICit2lol doesn't resolve the issue, could you run Autoruns and then click on File> Save.. Save the file in .arn format and upload here. Will have a look

I have run the windows scan and it did not find a problem.
Centaur - after I open Autoruns, which file is it that you want me to save?

Duke I stand to be corrected but I have just done the autorun saved it to a Word document and then uploaded it via Manage attachments.

It then opens the whole thing as the autorun readout. Burt I do stand to be corrected.

    Please help me!
I recently downloaded Ultimate Windows 7 customizer. But while customizing the navigation pane, there was a serious error in editing the registry. Some the explorer has stopped showing any folders...

This is odd as it says that the c:\ drive is empty.
