Windows 7: startup time with 2 additional minutes when connected to the internet

Is this still the corrupt Lenovo factory preinstall with all the bloatware and useless duplicate utilities that have better versions built into Windows 7? I would do what most tech enthusiasts do which is to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to enjoy its native perfect performance you will never get with the Lenovo crap.



At the minimum I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware now.

Now I think it is really solved, disconnecting all my office network drives, and not having them reconnect at startup,I am back to 30 s boot, thanks all for your help. My computer searched for the drives for more than two long minutes.

I am also wondeing if it had something to do with the solid color bug, I always put a solid color for my desktop, thinking it takes less ressources... that's weird!

You should not have to use solid color or other desperate optimizations since Windows 7 is always fast and never hangs on adequate hardware with a perfect install.

You can ignore it all you want but the Lenovo preinstall is the worst possible install, as is any factory OEM preisntall.

I agree, I already got rid of the lenovo and its bloatware three weeks ago and installed from a Window 7 pro original disk, after finding out that the Lenovo software just did not work as you say. If I had known the tutorial before I would have saved time, thanks for pointing out.

Be sure to remove any network listing from BIOS Boot priority in BIOS setup. This is the only reason a network HD should interfere with boot.

But if you can isolate a specific HD causing the boot slowdown then it's possible there is code in its boot sector interfering with Windows 7 boot.

To check if this resolves the situation move the data off the network HD to wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command, then repartition and move it back on.

Work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to check for other clues after reconnecting the network drives causing boot slowdown.
