startup time with 2 additional minutes when connected to the internet

Hello all,
When I am connected to the internet (either ethernet cable or wifi on), when windows 7 starts, after I entered the password, it takes 2 additional minutes, showing only a blank screen with my mouse cursor. With ccleaner I tried deactivating all windows programs in startup, and scheduled tasks, but it was still the same.

Each time I disconnect the wifi or the ethernet cable before booting, the desktops comes in less than one minute, no blank screen. How can I find out the culprit for these two minutes?

Click on Start
Type msconfig and hit Enter
Click on the Startup tab
Check/Uncheck unneeded programs

Be careful what you disable there. Some of the drivers are necessary to run.

Open Event Viewer. (Click Start, type Event, select Event Viewer under Programs)

In the left pane, expand Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows then navigate down and expand Diagnostics-Performance. Click on Operational.

In the center pane, click on the first Event ID 100 line. Below that list click on Details Tab, then make sure the Friendly Orb is on.

In the right pane, click on Copy then select Copy Details as Text.

@Ztrucker: I have also a 2 minutes boot time in "safe mode with network" (10s less than with normal boot).
@carwiz: The diagnostics-Performance log is attached. I logged first with network connected, then not connected, I had exactly the same log in both cases, although the desktop takes 2 minutes more to appear when connected.

Sorry for a late annswer to your posts, in the meantime I reinstalled windows from a Windows 7 pro disk instead of the Lenovo disk,I had the 20s startup in the beginning, then after a couple of days of reinstalling stuffs I get the 2 additional minutes again, as expected (this is the third time I reinstall). If I look at the windows update history, the last update I have is the "Lenovo PM Device", and if I look in "restoring to an earlier time" the last installations I have are Epson WP-M4525 and Sharp MW-1800 multifonction drivers, Dell printer,VLC, Quicktime, apple software update, apple application support, gsyncit, a virtual credit card program, and updates of ccleaner, Chrome, Firefox. I am not sure if one of these caused the dealy, because it did not happened right after installation of any of these applications.

I can normally revert back to fast boot because I backed up my system drive with Acronis when it was fast (fyi, last time I backed up with Lenovo Rescue & Recovery and the restore was catastrophic, I wrote about it in another post). But I'd like to understand what is causing the delay first !

Your boot startup programs (20) and user profile customizations are consuming the most time. Trim those back and boot time will decrease. That's well over 35 seconds worth.

For curiosity, start REGEDIT and snip/post the items under the following link. (Do NOT change anything)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems

The AMT BIOS thing finally did not work, my boot time is more than two minutes again. I am listening to you all...

The only extra I see in the Registry is the POSIX. This is usually included as part of PSXSS.EXC that establishes various system items and .NET needs. Not sure why it's added except perhaps for remote debugging with the Intel Management Engine. The "after Bios" boot times are less but there's still 20 startup programs in Windows boot. As an example, I have eight! This could be what we refer to here as PC Mfg. "Bloatware" but you don't give any details of your startup programs. Widows startup will take about 15 seconds and while your Prefetch loading is taking 2-4 seconds, you'll get that back (and then some) during use. Everything beyond that will be operational programs, drivers and extras. And it appears you have MANY extras.

Do you use a lot of desktop icons? Have many Users defined? Have any desktop Gadgets? These all add to startup time.

The Intel Management Engine is used for remote access by IT folks or for remote debugging. I don't know your situation so I can't advise on the removal of IME and remote debugging but it takes load time and memory even when not in use.

If you can post a snippet of your startup programs, we might be able to pick through it.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuration then click on the Startup tab. Use the Snipping Tool and capture the contents of the window. It will take multiple snips to get all 20 of yours.
