Is there a way to check directly and see what all background programs are running in Windows 7 Home Premium??

press ctrl-alt-del and run task manager. In processes tab you see it

Running Diskkeeper in the Background on Windows 7?
Preparing to move from XP to 7, I saved the .exe file for Diskkeeper. I want to use it on 7. On XP, I tried to run it in the background, and leave it to do the defragging for me, but I could see a definite slowdown! Anybody having that trouble on 7?

Alright for the life, in windows 7, I can not figure out how to tell what programs are running in the background upon startup ie: antivirus, firewall, etc, and how can I add/delete programs in this area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you; Mike M.
