Windows 7: Starting Windows too long

OK. That did the trick. I removed AVG, but left my 5 entries in the msconfig System Startup alone. The Starting Windows time dropped to less than 18 seconds. Thank you all for your inputs.

Hiyya gilloz sorry late reply I see the others have got you sorted I would have said get rid of that AVG too and did you check the Start up tab in msconfig I have mine set to security and the OS only -oh plus Bins.

Stuck in startup repair. How long is too long?
Hello, Windows explorer was not responding yesterday so I had no choice but to hard reboot. Since then life has ceased to exist as i knew it. I cannot get into safe mode. windows 7 long "starting windows" screen time and froze disk check
So I just built my new pc 2 days ago my computer will boot up but I get a realllllly long "starting windows" screen sometimes it just freezes there and I have to hard reset it, if it passes that then it goes into a disk check where it freezes every time after all 3 steps are done any suggestions?

Recycling a movie from my harddrive is taking long long time.

Incredibly long delay from long on to desktop
I just installed a clean version of Win 7 Pro on my Thinkpad X200. Everything is great except for one small problem: there is a 25-30 second wait between the time i enter my logon pw and the time my desktop appears. This is highly unusual for several reasons. First, it doesn't "appear" as though...
